'The Learning Philosopher'... a short introduction to my blog

“Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” What do people get for all their hard work under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes.

The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow. (Ecclesiastes 1:2-4, 18 NLT)

Do any of you out there question many aspects of your life, most days? Like: 'How is my use of electricity today affecting global warming?' or 'Who really made my clothes and under what conditions?' or 'Which political arrangements and ideologies am I applying to my Grade 1 classroom, perhaps without realising?'

Yes. I truly do think about the big picture!

The purpose of this blog is to philosophise about learning and to learn about wisdom in practice.

Some entries will be about learning in the sense of education. Other entries will be about various aspects of life, from dish washing to urban planning and tango dancing!

I hope you enjoy journeying with me and please do join in the discussions. Who knows? Perhaps we will inspire and encourage one another to greater love and wisdom.

Yours musingly,

The Learning Philosopher
